France: Homeowners Find Dead Man on Their Balcony After Fight Between Migrant Gangs
Homeowners discovered the body of a man who apparently sought shelter on their balcony after being stabbed during a nearby confrontation last week in France, according to reports.
The horrifying incident unfolded on the afternoon of February 5 in Besançon, capital of the Doubs department in Eastern France.
Authorities were first alerted at around 4:30 p.m. about a bloody brawl in a residential neighborhood.
“A witness confirmed to them that a violent fight had just taken place," a source told Actu 17.
Responding officers were unable to find any suspects in the area.
Approximately an hour later, police received another call from a local resident who found a man suffering from stab wounds on her terrace.
The victim, later identified as 20-year-old Adama Condé, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Medical examiners reportedly counted 22 stab wounds around Condé's body, including one to the heart.
Authorities believe the stabbing may have been a continuation of a conflict sparked hours earlier at a nightclub in the city.
"Three days after the death of Adama Condé, the investigators have become certain that this case has its source in a Besançon nightclub," L'est Républicain reports.
"During the night, young people from the Albanian community reportedly clashed with Ivorians. The unfortunate result is known: the victim fell the next day between 2 and 6 p.m. under the blows of his assailants."
An investigation is ongoing and at least one suspect was reportedly taken into custody last week.
A heated debate over violent crime and lawlessness tied to mass migration has been raging in France.
Military leaders have fired off multiple incendiary letters in recent years, warning the Macron government of looming "civil war" if strong measures are not taken to regain control of a society spiraling into chaos.
