“This Is Insane” – Elon Musk Reacts to Record-Busting Border Numbers
Leaked data indicating December will be the worst month for illegal border crossings in U.S. history has elicited a strong reaction from the world’s richest man.
On Friday, Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin reported that ‘migrant encounters’ on the southwest land border have already surpassed any full month in recorded history — with three days still to go.
“CBP sources tell FOX there have now been over 276,00 migrant encounters at the southern border in December, the highest single month ever recorded, breaking the prior record set in September at 269,735, and there are still 3 days of December left,” Melugin wrote on X.
“Record is being shattered. This new record number includes over 230,000 Border Patrol apprehensions of illegal immigrants in December, also the highest single month of apprehensions ever recorded for Border Patrol.”
Elon Musk replied to Melugin, saying, “This is insane.”
At the current rate of more than 9,000 daily encounters along the southern border, December will likely close at well over 300,000 incursions — a figure that does not include other U.S. frontiers, or known or unknown gotaways.
Melugin also revealed that the first quarter of Fiscal Year 2024, which began on October 1, will also go down as the worst ever with more than 760,000 encounters.
“All records being blown out of the water under the Biden admin as the crisis gets worse – not better,” Melugin wrote.
Shortly after Musk replied to Melugin, he went on to share a graph showing that the number of illegal aliens entering the U.S. is now outpacing the number of babies being born to American mothers.
“To give you a sense of the immense and growing size of illegal immigration!” Musk wrote in a quote tweet of the alarming chart.
