Coast Guard Intercepts Boat Packed With Illegals Near Posh Malibu Enclave

U.S. authorities thwarted a boatload of illegal migrants in waters near one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in California this week.

The incident unfolded just after 4 p.m. on Tuesday off the coast of Malibu, a posh enclave for the rich and famous and ‘sanctuary city’ for illegal aliens.

A U.S. Coast Guard crew on patrol detected a suspicious 41-foot pleasure craft approximately 16 miles from the Malibu coast.

Additional Coast Guard vessels were dispatched to intercept the boat, along with Customs and Border Protection’s Air and Marine Operations (CBP AMO) surface and air assets.

“The law enforcement teams arrived on the scene and detained 23 undocumented non-citizens attempting to enter the country illegally,” the Coast Guard explained in a press release.

“AMO took the vessel in tow and transported the vessel and people onboard to shore for further processing by SEG officers. AMO seized the suspected smuggling vessel.”

The origins of the boat and its passengers are unclear at this time.

In 2017, officials in Malibu declared the city was a “sanctuary” for illegal aliens.

Councilmembers voted 3-2 to pass a resolution that was inspired by actor Martin Sheen, who “grabbed the lectern during a City Council meeting and — as if conjuring his inner President Josiah Bartlet from ‘The West Wing’ — urged the city to become a sanctuary city,” the Los Angeles Times reported.

InfoWars regularly reports on human smuggling busts in U.S. waters, many of which occur on the West Coast.
