Illegal Alien Arrested for Throwing Own Baby Into Rio Grande
A male illegal alien was arrested in Texas this week after he threw his own baby daughter into the Rio Grande, according to authorities.
The disturbing incident unfolded at around 1 p.m. on Sunday in Eagle Pass, TX.
A Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS) trooper encountered a lone male who was trespassing in Shelby Park, a private park located mere feet from the border river.
The suspect ignored a slew of warnings against entering the park, according to a statement published by TxDPS spokesman Lt. Chris Olivarez.
“Shipping containers, concertina [sic] wire, fences, no trespassing signs, audio commands warning individuals not to enter the premises are all tools utilized to inform individuals not to enter the premises,” the statement explains.
The suspect was arrested after he also disregarded multiple verbal warnings given by the TxDPS trooper.
He was identified as Miguel Ernesto Nunez-Martinez, an illegal alien from Honduras.
During an ensuing investigation, authorities discovered Nunez-Martinez had been observed tossing a baby into the Rio Grande shortly before his arrest.
The child reportedly turned out to be his 1-year-old daughter.
“I observed a hispanic male, wearing all black, with tattoos on his neck, throw [sic] a child into the Rio Grande river. The child was approximately 1 year of age and had a pink bow in her hair. The child went under the water completely and was obviously in distress and in danger [sic] of drowning,” Florida Highway Patrol Lieutenant Michael T. Mattiza stated in an affidavit.
“The air boat turned around and the same male walked over to the child and grabbed the child from under the water. The child was crying and visibly terrified.”
Nunez-Martinez now faces a variety of state charges, including Child Endangerment.
